High Summer

The grassy slopes above the town are at their very best right now. The spectacular show of flowering plants are playing host to a huge variety of insects. Many butterflies are on the wing and although some of the earlier spring species are on the wane, others such as Common Blue, Small Copper and Brown Argus are taking over. Watch out too for fast flying Dark Green Fritillaries and the rather scarce Silver Spotted Skipper. Enjoy all of this on Brush Hill, Grangelands, Bradenham or Lodge Hill.
