Spring in Bix Bottom

Bix Bottom in the southern Chilterns, managed by BBOWT as the Warburg  Reserve, is  a spectacular valley at any time of year but comes to life in Spring.  On Monday we were rewarded with a 'drumming' Treecreeper opening up a nest hole, very active and obliging Marsh Tits and the early flowering but rather scarce Wild Daphne or Mezereon chalk shrub. Primroses and violets are at their best and butterflies were numerous.
