Princes Risborough station in the 1890s, looking south towards High Wycombe with the former Railway Hotel to the left. The GWR train will depart either to Oxford via Thame or Aylesbury. The new 'GC & GW Joint' line to Haddenham, Bicester, Banbury and Oxford was still some years away! The station we use today was built beyond the footbridge, allowing services to continue to serve the town throughout the creation of that new railway. The earlier station above was then demolished when the new station opened.
